OVERVIEW
“Where there is a will, there is a way”
During the period of 1997-1998, the then Hon. State P.W.D Minister Mr. Nitin
Gadkari had a dream- A dream to make Nagpur a flyover city alike any other
Nagpurian. The day finally came when the project of Shahid Govari Flyover at
Sitaburdi and flyover at Chhatrapati square was sanctioned. The work of design &
drawing of this flyover was entrusted to the well-known and renowned designer Mr.
Sashi Prabhu from Mumbai.
The flyover at Chhatrapati square was constructed during the period of 1999-2001.
It was constructed by the Public Works Department- Government of Maharashtra
through The World Bank Project Division Nagpur.
