C.0.0 OCCUPATIONAL SAFETY & HEALTH MANAGEMENT SYSTEM
The management system describes the roles and responsibilities of individuals at all
levels, from company senior management to operators, in the formulation of policies
and strategies, implementation of the Occupational Health and Safety Management
System (OHSMS) as well as auditing and management review in all areas of
operations and supporting activities.
Ranhill SAJ Sdn Bhd (RSAJ) is implementing OHSMS adopted from OHSAS 18001:
2007, in all divisions in order to ensure that all aspects of Environment Health and
Safety (EHS) comply with Malaysian statutory requirements and RSAJ‘s policies and
industry standards.
OHSMS in RSAJ consists of the manual, procedures, instruction and guidelines.
These are briefly described in this part. The system describes the management of
critical EHS activities to ensure safety and health of company’s employees,
contractors, public and the preservation of the environment. This system is
applicable to all RSAJ‘s employees, contractors and visitors.
C.0.1 Occupational Safety & Health (OSH) Policy
RSAJ’s Chief Executive Officer (CEO) approves RSAJ EHS policy, which includes
the occupational health and safety requirements and considerations. It is the policy
of the company to maintain, as far as is reasonably, a healthy and safe working
environment for all its employees, visitors and contractors through the identification
and control of hazards, compliance with safety and environmental legislation, training
and development of safety awareness and the involvement on the part of the
workforce.
RSAJ believes that it is important for the company to understand and comply with all
the regulations in Malaysia or in the context of this study, the Occupational Safety
and Health Act 1994. The EHS policy statement, signed by the Chief Executive
Officer has been reviewed in year 2018, represents the level of commitment towards
the health, safety and environment requirements to be implemented at RSAJ. This
policy serves as a framework within which strategic EHS objectives are set.
Under this policy, RSAJ is committed in complying to legal requirements,
establishing procedures of safety regulations, to communicate to all employees of
their responsibility, to encourage all employees to actively contribute to the continual
improvement and to periodically review the policy in order to provide a safe and
healthy working environment as well as promoting the involvement of its employees
and personnel within the plant towards establishing a high level of health and safe
