The OHSMS manual interprets, supports and details the requirements of OSH Policy
and forms the basis for the development and application of OHS at all levels of
Company activities.
Supporting the manual is the core of OHS procedures and work instruction that
mandates the minimum requirements, the responsibilities and the business rules that
are needed to implement the OHS Policy.
The Company is also supported by external parties such as the chlorine
manufacturer in terms of supporting materials or toolkits that include documents
such as guidelines, checklists, and forms. All OSH documents are available on the
Company worksite.
The OHSMS structure is shown diagrammatically in Figure C.0.2 below.

C.0.3 Management System Manual
The Company OSH Management System Manual includes business and operational
systems as well as the health, safety, environmental and quality issues.
The OSH Manual is designed specifically to:
• Provide a set of performance standards covering the various aspects (or
elements) of occupational safety and health (OSH) which are managed to
ensure complete coverage of the assets and activities;
• Provide an auditable trail from management’s policy statements of OSH
through the manual to the documents that define the physical activities; and
• Be aligned with the legal and other standards that the Company bond to.
The Manual has been developed specifically to ensure and encourage the input of
employees in developing the procedures and initiatives. In this way, all employees
can perform their activities equipped with a clear understanding of their role in the
processes of Company goals in achieving OSH excellence. The manual takes into
