4.2.5 Small Power
13 amp switched socket outlets, connection
units and isolators shall be supplied and installed
in accordance with the requirements of the
project.
• All general use 13A sockets shall be white
moulded plastic outlets to BS 1363.
• All sockets serving computer and telephone
equipment shall be wired on dedicated
circuits with a separate clean earth
connected to the clean earth bar.
• ‘Clean’ socket outlets shall normally have
completely red coloured faceplates, as
MEM 3190 and 3195 or similar. EXCEPT, that
those inside the monitor shrouds on the
makeline wall ( only) must be BLACK.
• The 2no. 13A S/S/O for the Cooktek units
MUST be wired on their own ring, back to
the MCB. Under no circumstances may they
share another ring of any kind.
• Supply and install suitably sized single phase
supplies, complete with separate individual
control switches located in a convenient
position near the oven, to serve extract and
fresh air supply fans. Wire from the switches
to a local isolator adjacent to each fan and
the final connection to the fan itself.
(NOTE: Power supplies to PS 200/PS540/PS640WOW ovens
will be standard 13A S/S/O. However, supplies to both PS
555 series and PS 360 series ovens will require a 20A rated suitable unit is SigNET ML1/K ( Details in approved
socket for each oven (Reyrolle type) and in this case,
both socket and plug should be supplied by the electrical
contractor. Plugs to be wired to ovens, by others.)
• The supply to each oven socket shall be
independent so that in the event that one
circuit breaker trips, power is not lost to both
ovens at the same time.
4.2.5 - 4.2.6 Small Power and Induction Loop
• Install electrical supplies to ceiling mounted
cassette air conditioning system, signs,
local extract fans (with/without overrun
timers), dedicated outlets for systems etc. as
necessary.
• Make final connection to all items of
equipment unless specified otherwise.
• Supplies to fascia signs shall be terminated
with 1.5m length of flexible sheathed cable
at the centre of each sign location, and
fed via a time clock. The time clock shall be
located in the electrical cupboard in such
a position that it can be easily seen and
adjusted and instructions must be left with it.
• The fascia sign supply MUST be clearly
identified, and if necessary a draw wire
should left through the fascia for the sign
contractors to pull their cable through later.
It is NOT acceptable to simply provide a
fused spur internally and leave it to the sign
contractors to find a route to it from outside.
• A 20A switched fused spur, backed up by a
Type C MCB (Motor Rated), shall be installed
to serve the cold room.
4.2.6 Induction Loop
Induction Loops to assist the hard of hearing
must be installed in all new stores and all re-fits
from the beginning of 2012. This will normally be
fitted to the Disabled section of the counter and
may be fitted by the site electrician as part of
his installation. The unit fitted should comply with
EN60118-4 (formerly BS6083) and BS7594:1993. A
suppliers section).
