Thorn In The Heart
Nguyen heard the sound of the rifles that closed to his youngest
uncle field area.
Nguyen saw the group of French militarist soldiers running
after a Viet-Minh terrorist of the distance. A Viet-Minh terrorist
was disappeared and hiding behind the bamboo hedges around
the area, while French soldiers were seating for him and saw
Nguyen uncle. Nguyen called his youngest uncle to let him pay
attention at French militarist because he saw they walked toward
his youngest uncle from the back side and directed their rifles to
him. Nguyen's uncle was extreme afraid under the threaten of
the French soldier's rifles. He gave his hands up in the air and
stood like a dead wood to wait for them walking slowly toward
him. After French militarist soldiers came nearby him, their
rifles opened fire at him in an accidence without any question.
They thought that Nguyen's youngest uncle was a Viet-Minh
terrorist, who just escaped from them, had disguised himself to
be a farmer working on a muddy rice field. Nguyen hurried
standing up, howled and cried at the same time he had seen his
uncle struggling in the air while French soldiers were continuing
to shoot at him. Nguyen ran fast as he can onto the muddy field
toward his youngest uncle place, where his youngest uncle has
shot over a hundred bullets on the body. Nguyen saw his
youngest uncle lie on the field, struggled in his bloodiest on the
muddy and quiet.
Nguyen was not afraid of French militarist soldiers any
more as before he was. He stood among them on the muddy rice
field, gave them an angry look with his soul temper and red fire
eyes. Nguyen cried loudly, while he was bending down to grab
the mud nearby his feet then threw it on them with full angry
action. French militarist caught his hands, kicked at his buttock
and pressed him lying down on the mud. They stared at him in
their indifferent eyes, burst out, and left him alone beside his
dead body uncle.
