Nguyen looked at a fish struggling and was trying to escape
a hood in the water. It jumped up to the air and dropped down
onto the surface of the water.
"Ha... Ha. Grandma will cook good food for our lunch
today."
"Yes. It is a thing that you understood."
After that afternoon of fishing, uncle Cao left home at
midnight while all family members were sleeping and Nguyen's
mother was back home at noon the next day. She had undersold
in secret all of her properties to her neighbors. Sometime
Nguyen's mother and his grandparent discussed something in the
living room with the low voice that Nguyen did know all about
it. She always told him a way out from the living room to watch
the stranger, which may come to the house area in the accidence.
One day a strange woman came into their house to meet
Nguyen's mother. A stranger woman introduced herself as a
political and hardcore cadre of Viet-Minh. Her name was
Huong, Tran-Thi. Mrs. Huong had inquired into something of a
secret on Nguyen's father actions. Nguyen's mother always told
Mrs. Huong that she did not know anything about her husband
actions, even she did not know he was alive or dies at nowhere.
Mrs. Huong forced Nguyen's mother following her out of
the house after a half day of the interrogation and threatened.
Nguyen's mother was unwilling to go with Mrs. Huong toward
another village area, but she could not refuse because of the
safety of the member family.
Before she walks out from the house, she called Nguyen's
Grandparent into a kitchen and conversation with them in a low
whisper.
