head in her sorrowful and quietly. Just in time, Nguyen's
grandma was carrying a bag of food toward the living room; she
looked at Nguyen's mother.
"Oh... My God! Trinh. What happened to your father?" In
an emotion of afraid for Vietminh that she thought they might be
out of the house to listen to their conversations. She looked at
him in the dark.
"Do you want they come here to kill all of us?" In a low
voice, she asked.
"What do you talk about?"
Nguyen grandma stared at him.
"I would like to remind you that you were too loudly."
"Father. Please...! It is very dangerous for us this time...!" In
the fairly low voice, Nguyen's mother said.
"I knew at all...! I had told Cao that Viet-Minh was no
family, no national, and no religion. Why he did not listen to
me?" In sorrow he said.
Grandma gave a look of astonishment at Nguyen's mother
and asked:
"What was he talking about?"
Grandpa interrupted in his low voice and temper.
"We had talked about Cao, our son!" He replies.
Nguyen's grandma opened wide her eyes in wonder and
looked at Nguyen's mother.
"Trinh. Did you meet Cao? Where is he living now? He left
home over a year without his news!"
