looked like the wild animals, which applied the cruel jungle
rules on his grandparent, such as Viet-Minh tortured a man and
woman to death in his grandparent warehouse.

Nguyen's grandparent was old since they had exhausted
under the beating pressure of French militarist soldiers. They
were staggering on the bank rice field, and sometimes their feet
slipped on the banks then fell heavily on the rice field. Even the
French soldier did not help them, but also they always kicked or
stamped on Nguyen's grandparent backs to force they recovering
and walked as they run on the paddy field. Few times they
pricked a sharp on Nguyen's grandpa buttock to force him to
hurry for standing.

Nguyen's grandparent was renting their hearts to look at one
of another in those situations, and they could not stop or help for
another one. Nguyen’s Grandpa looked at his wife, shook his
head in the tearful eyes. Also, she looked at him and always
cried in the painful suffering, while the French soldiers were
behind them as the evils. They had pricked a sharp of a bayonet
on Nguyen’s grandparent back to push him forward on the
paddy wet banks.

Nguyen and his grandparent just walked onto the main road
of the village about 100 feet. His grandma felt dizzy by the death
situations of the people that appeared around her in the village.
Nguyen's grandpa was hurried running toward her and tried to
help her stand. He bent his back and let she lean against his right
shoulder, but she was still falling on the main road because his
hands had tied up on his back. He does not pay attention to the
action and dirty words, which French soldiers cursed loudly on
him. Also, Nguyen kept these words in his mind over ten years
to understand the dirty meaning after high school years in South
Vietnam:

“Son of the bitch...”
