24.3.2 The GPAX (Cumulative Grade Point Average) shall be calculated from
the student performance until the last semester by summing up the
product of the credits and grade point obtained for all subjects and
divide by the total credits. If a student registered to take a particular
subject for more than one time, it can only be calculated once with the
highest grade point earned.
25. Class attendance: It is required that the student must attend no less than 80 percent of
the total hours of study of that subject. In case that the student attends less than the requirement,
he/she shall be disqualified for taking the final examination and shall receive the letter “W” with the
consent of the instructor.
26. Repeating of failed subjects
26.1 Students who fail in the required fundamental subjects or core major subjects,
must repeat those subjects again until receiving a passing grade.
26.2 Students who fail in a major elective subject or a free elective subject, must
repeat the subject or change to other subject in the same category.
Section 11: Academic Standing and Dismissal of Student
27. The academic standing classification
The academic standing for each student shall be classified at the end of each semester
except for first-year students, for whose status shall be classified at the end of second semester.
There will be no classification of student’s academic standing at the end of summer session. The
classification regarding of student’s academic standing are as follows:
27.1 Normal Student is the student with a cumulative GPA (GPAX) of 2.00 or higher.
27.2 Students on academic probation are those with cumulative GPA (GPAX) of 1.50
or higher but less than 2.00.
The dismissed students are students that successfully graduate, complete the program,
or possess GPAX below the level stated in Clause 28.1, or dropped out with other reasons stated in
Clause 28.2.
28. Academic dismissal
Students who fall into the following category shall be dismissed.
