BUILDING A STRATEGY PART 4
MEDIA BUZZ
Media buzz is arguably the holy grail of football index and it's
no surprise as the patterns are very consistent. Holding the
right players for Media buzz can provide a steady income.
Before I buy a player I ask myself four questions that I use as entry
conditions, questions that give me a idea if the media are likely to be bias too
write about them often.
Player's will have to full fill a preferable three of these entry conditions but two
is OK if they are big enough media magnets.
The questions are below and I will use Arsenal and Germany
player Mesut Ozil as a case study example based on holding 100 shares at
£2.24 per share.
Are they a High Profile Player? This question is the most important because
a high-profile player will always attract media as fans want to hear about
them! If they play good they get media! if they play bad they get media! if they
say something in an interview they get media!
Why? Why are they high-profile players? ask yourself this question to make
sure there is no bias with your thinking, such as if you support Southampton
then to you Charlie Austin might be a high-profile player but in reality he is
going to attract very little media. List reasons why they are high-profile to
further support your Trade.
Ozil
Yes Ozil is a high-profile player because he has played for Real Madrid, won
the world cup with Germany and is widely regarded as one of Arsenals (who
are one of England's biggest clubs) two most important players.
Are they Controversial Players? Is the player likely to cause controversy at
some point during the season?
Why? What makes them controversial players? are they likely to be sent off
because they have short tempers? Do they have a high presence on social
media? Do they clash with the manager?
