Congo lion also known as the Uganda lion
The Congo lion is extinct in Rwanda. They are found in Democratic Republic of the Congo and parts
of western Uganda. They are protected in the Virunga National Park in the Democratic Republic of
Congo and the Queen Elizabeth National Park in Uganda.
Southwestern Africa lion or the Katanga lion
The Katanga lion can be found in Zimbabwe, western Zambia, Zaire, Angola, Namibia and northern
Botswana. The mane of the male Katanga lion are lighter in colour.
