Masai lion or the East African lion
Masai lions can be found in Ethiopia, Kenya, Mozambique and Tanzania. These lions have long legs
and their backs are less curved than the normal lion. The males have moderate tufts on their knee
joints and their manes look as if it is combed back. The older males have a fuller mane.
Transvaal lion or the Kalahari lion
The Kalahari lions are found in the Kruger National Park in South Africa and in the Swaziland Hlane
Royal National Park. These male lions have black well developed manes.
