Javan leopard

The Javan leopard is mostly confined to the Indonesian island of Java. There are less than 25 adult
Javan leopards left in the world. In 2016 four Javan leopards were filmed in the Cikepuh
conservation park in Sukabumi. Three of these leopards have yellow spots while the fourth one has
black spots. It is estimated that 12 leopards currently live in the Cikepuh conservation park.
Melanism is the most common in this sub-specie of the leopard.

Melanism is the development of the dark-coloured pigmentation melanin in the skin which give the
               animal a black appearance.

               North Chinese leopard

The North Chinese leopard is darker in colour than the other Asian leopards. Their diet consists of
anything from insects to rodents or even big game.
