UC Buyer:

Role History

• Role created by the transition of corporate telephony from TDM to IP-based systems.

• Many of the UC buyers started their careers as technical experts in Telecommunications (think
  telephony , trunking/line side connectivity, such as T1, satellite, microwave, etc.) or Data Networking
  expert (switching, routing, DTC, etc.).

• The UC buyer with a Telecom background typically has a better understanding of the user needs and
  a more focused approach on the experience that the solution delivers to all different user types

• The UC buyer with a Networking background tends to focus more on standardization, consolidation
  and optimization of the operation, without much concern about the end user detailed requirements.
