communications over public networks
• Workforce productivity can be increased by positioning security as an enabler for mobile sales forces, remote
workers, on-duty off-premises staff…
• Cost reduction efforts today lead to travel reduction, increased use of virtual collaboration tools, but also to major
IT projects such as moving applications, data & servers to the cloud, VDI, BYOD…
• Compliance is not an option for many companies, it is a legal obligation. Regardless of the regulations, there is
always an IT component with a security aspect. The most obvious is PCI which spells out 12 security requirements.
• However, being compliant does not always make you secure, but being secure puts you well on the road to being
compliant.
• None of these can be implemented without security as an enabler
