Step 4a
Battery Cabinet Installation
Always check for rebar or underground obstructions before drilling!
Assemble the cabinet according to the battery cabinet or UPS manufacturer
instructions. Carefully place the cabinet onto the liner (Figure 3). Be very
careful not to tear the liner by shifting the cabinet. Be sure to place the
included acid-resistant support plates under feet or rollers to help
prevent any possible tearing of the liner. Center the cabinet on the
inside of the liner. Check to ensure that distances from the wall and aisle
widths comply with local codes. The liner should extend beyond the cabinet
evenly on all sides.

Mark the locations of the holes to be drilled for the battery cabinet. Drill
holes for battery cabinet anchor bolts. Clean holes and remove debris. Coat
each floor anchor bolt with acid-resistant sealant before placement. Insert
anchor bolt through washer. (Figure 4) Run a bead of acid-resistant sealant
around cabinet footprint, anchor bolts and any open welds on cabinet that
would allow liquid to seep under the rack footprint. Lay 1/8” Masonite sheet
over the liner when installing batteries to protect liner from equipment and
lifts. Set the batteries in the cabinet. Remove Masonite and duct tape.
