The application of various forms of assessments such as for example; student may be
allowed to record their presentations with voice over, instead of them submitting only
dull presentations. Secondly, student may be required to contribute new ideas and
knowledge on the LMS (Moodle) through discussion forums that are created by the
teacher and the teacher can monitor and assist student’s contribution. Several
authentic assessment is also critical when conducting the blended learning process,
these can be in the forms of projects that students can complete. Rubrics applications
is also essential as a method to show case what is expected from students when
completing authentic assessment activities.
During blended learning, teachers should be careful of not over assessing students as
this will lose the value of blended learning interest in learning. Therefore, teachers
should make each process engaging and relevant to the student learning process.
