APPROACHES TO DEVELOP ARCHITECTURAL DESIGN CONCEPT -

MATERIAL

Building materials can be used as our early
approach in developing the building concept. When

the designer focus on the specific material the
building design will lead towards particular form
where the appearance of the form is organic form.

Sometimes in the design process a material

approach for the development of the design
concept based on our site context. Like for

example if our design project is for historical use
the selection of a particular material will be used in
a more innovative way. When the designer

approaches by selecting the local material, it will
give the local users a sense of comfort with the

design and become familiar with the building easily.
This kind of approach also will give nod to the
natural surroundings and environment benefit Figure 27 : St Peter house that is using material
