APPROACHES TO DEVELOP ARCHITECTURAL DESIGN CONCEPT –

          COLLABORATIVE

Many projects being done collaboratively. It doesn’t
matter whether the project is small or big in any

design project mostly will involve different aspects
of experts such as engineers, surveyors, contractors
and also the clients. However, the end user of the

building is one of the important parts of the puzzle
that often is not directly involved in the design

process. Some architects nowadays start to
consider the end user is the expert in fulfilling the

requirements of the building. The architect who
engage the end user in a collaborative exercise they
will see the end user contribution in developing the

concept for the design project. This kind of
involvement popular with the project that have a

large community as end user such as mosque and
Figure 29 : Involvement of end user in
school. The skills and knowledge of the building
                                                                                                     developing the design concept
users can be used in the development of the design

concept. This kind of approach is rarely possible in a
student project, but worth considering as an

          approach to design.
