It is more preferable to pay it at the beginning of the month so that the poor can benefit from it as soon as possible.It can also be paid to a group of 30 people on the same night and it can also be for different people on different nights. The goal is to feed 30 poor muslims by the end of the month.Does an elder automatically fall under the sick category?No, they do not.When is an elder exempt from fasting?An elder who is not sick, but has difficulty fasting due to advanced old age (which in our society would be considered 80 or above) can refrain from fasting.
