The wicked things to God
sinners to be stoned to death. They felt the prick of con-
science when their sins were exposed. They felt the prick of
conscience. But they didn’t fall down and admit in front of
Jesus that they were the sinners to be stoned to death and
to be judged by God. They did not confess to Jesus. But in-
stead, they just sneaked away. As Jesus exposed their sins,
they sneaked away even though they knew themselves their
sins by their consciences. This just shows that if people do
to serve and believe in God with their consciences, they may
feel the prick of conscience when their sins were exposed, but
cannot be repented. This is because people are too stubborn
in facing the Word of God and in serving God, which is done
by their consciences that we cannot realize and see the inner
thoughts of God at all. By their consciences, they think there
is nothing against God, so they regard their sins are not the
sin, but are reasonable and try to justify by turning them into
excuses. That’s why they did not relate to the sinner whom
God mentioned, and because they couldn’t become that sin-
ner, they did not see that they were evil themselves who were
more evil than the adulterous woman, and as a sinner, they
could not fall down in the presence of Jesus.
In fact, the spiritual state of those who are so-called
believers today is even worse than these Pharisees and teach-
ers of the law. Those believers in Jesus have rooted their faith
deeply in their consciences. They are unrelated to Jesus and
