FAQ
CONSTRUCTION
When does the construction process begin?
It begins during lease negotiations, starting with the Level Of Development (LOD). Using the LOD, The CSC Construction team will
create a clinic space plan for you.
What is an LOD?
An LOD is a set of drawings, usually provided by the landlord that show the existing conditions and dimensions of the space.
What happens after I receive the space plan provided by the CSC?
You should forward the CSC provided space plan to an architect of your choice, who will convert it to full permit drawings, so you can
obtain building permits. If you do not have an architect, we can assist you in finding one.
When do I start construction?
As soon as the architect is done with the permit-set of plans, you can forward those plans along with the CSC Construction Manual
to three general contractors for competitive bidding. The CSC Construction Team will help you filter through the bids to find the right
general contractor.
So, I have a permit and a general contractor, what now?
Now you can begin to build, provided the landlord has given you keys to the space. Once that happens, you can order all the assorted
furnishings, fixtures, and equipment needed for your clinic. The general contractor will handle the physical construction of the space.
Can I purchase whatever furnishings and fixtures I want?
We are a national franchise, and as such, we maintain a brand identity. Our clinics are outfitted with specific furnishings and fixtures.
These specific items will be presented to you in an easy-to-use template vendor guideline.
Once construction is complete, what do I need to do to open?
There is a final checklist to follow which includes a set of photos to send to the CSC. In RD areas, those same items will funnel first to
the RD who will in turn send them to the CSC. Once inspected and approved, Axis will be activated and you will be cleared to treat
patients and process payments. Congratulations, you are officially open for business!
