                                                                           APPROVED: 02.23.2015
                                                                           EFFECTIVE: 02.23.2015
                                                                           ANNUAL REVIEW:

According to UF policy, “Travel to and from an employee’s home to the employee’s regularly
assigned headquarters cannot be counted as hours worked. If the employee is called back to
work after his or her scheduled hours of work for the day, the employee should be credited
with actual time worked, including time to and from the employee’s home to the assigned work
location or a minimum of two hours of work, whichever is greater.

If an employee is required as a result of University of Florida employment to attend a meeting
or conference, or otherwise work at an out-of-town location, this attendance or work is
considered time worked. Travel time on the first and last day of the event … is considered time
               worked.”

The Department of Anesthesiology further defines work time for non-exempt employees with
               these specifications:

Flight time on the first and last day of the event (airline departure time to airline arrival time,
minus time change) is considered time worked.

If traveling by car on the first or last day of the event, the employee may report the driving
hours minus time zone changes as time worked. Work time is not reported for travel that
occurs during the days of the meeting, such as time spent walking to or traveling in a cab, bus,
               train, or subway.

Once the meeting commences, the hours spent in meeting sessions can be reported as work
time. If a lunch panel is attended, the length of the lunch panel minus a half hour may be
reported as work. No work hours may be reported for cocktail parties or social events.

If one is traveling over the weekend and the supervisor approves, additional time off from work
may be taken before the end of the pay week to minimize the amount of overtime accrued due
               to meeting travel.

If an employee uses vacation in the same week as a meeting, the vacation time may not be
used to put an employee into overtime status. The vacation time must be decreased
               accordingly.
