Farewell/Retirement:
The expenditures for these departure events must be approved by the Department
Administrator in advance and remain within budget. Department support may be requested
for departures as noted by longevity:

Less than 3 years – cake (or pie, or appropriate treat)
3 years to less than 5 years – cake (or pie, or appropriate treat), a reasonably-priced division
meal (in compliance with UF Health’s Event Alcohol Policy), at the discretion of the Chair
5 years to less than 10 years – cake (or pie, or appropriate treat), luncheon, gift
More than 10 years – at the discretion of the supervisor, Department Administrator and
Chairman

Flowers:
A flower arrangement, or living plant, or an appropriate substitute may be sent for employee
hospitalizations and/or births when the department is notified in a timely fashion.

Flowers or an “in lieu of” contribution to a charity of the employee’s choice may be sent for all
employee/immediate family member deaths.

Other Events:
The following events will receive no sponsorship/support from the Department:
Birthday cakes/parties/gifts
Baby showers/gifts
Wedding showers/gifts
Holiday gifts
