Mary Parker Follet

          • Early behaviourist.

          • Attributed much greater significance to group functioning

to organizations than the supporters of the classical

               management view.

          • She argued that organizations:

                 a) Are continually influenced by groups within which they

                         operate.

                 b) Should operate on a principle of power with rather that

                         power.

                 c) Integrate as a means to find a satisfactory solution for all

                         parties.

                 d) Emphasize on integrative unity, where the organization

operates as a functional whole with various interrelated parts
working together to effectively achieve organizational goals.
