         U trawling for  cod, but it was  also  used  to hitch  horses  to  picket lines.



                                                                Pass  the working end of the
                                                              I  line from  front:  to  back
                                                             around the foundation  object or
                                                             thicker rope. Bring the working
                                                             end fotward  and  to  the  left  of
                                                             its own standing part.















            Take  the working end up
         2  and diagonally across  the
         front  of the standing part and
         foundation  object.










            Pass  the working end down
         3  behind the  foundation
         object so  that it emerges  at  the
         front  and  to the  right of the
         standing part.
