OVERHAND KNOT
his is, in fact, a simple overhand knot with a drawloop. Drawloops act as quick releases, so
T this knot can be as easily untied as it can be tied. T his knot can be tied either in the end
or in the middle of a rope.
M ake a crossing turn by taking the working
I end behind the standing part.
To release the knot,
pill/ on the short
working end.
Double the working end to form a bight.
2 Pass the bight thro ugh the crossing turn.
T ighten the knot by
3 pulling on the bight and
the standing part.
