BLOOD LOOP
DROPPER KNOT
t is the twists in this knot that make it part of the 'blood knot' family (see Stopper knots:
I Double overhand knot, page 39.) This knot is generally tied at the end of fishing lines to
form a loop to which a baited hook is fixed. It is also useful and attractive: the loop is formed
in the middle of a line and can be used for all sorts of attachments.
Form a loop in the
I middle of the cord. (If you
wish, thread an object like a key
or a whistle on to the cord so
that it will be suspended from
this loop).
Tie a simple overhand knot
2 (see page 38), keeping the
loops quite loose.
Take a second tuck with
3 either end of the cord.
Again, keep the loops loose.
