Nomination Recognition 2017

        Report by Individual Nominee

       CATEGORY: LIFELONG LEARNER

       NOMINEE NOMINATOR DEPARTMENT
Kayla Ivey Amanda Copeland Formulation 400400

Describe the situation or event related to the individual's or team's performance.

I believe Kayla's qualities exemplify that of a lifelong learner. She sets a great example to others inside our
group as well as those at her Alma Mater, which she often visits in a professional capacity. She recognizes the
importance of growing her business, technical, and leadership competencies. She laid a great foundation
through her beginnings at Lippman in the Quality Control labs and applies those learnings into Product
Development- how products are tested at Lippman labs, feedback from Mix Technicians in Manufacturing, and
potential issues that may arise through formula scale-up.

Describe in detail the individual's or team's notable behaviors.
Kayla truly puts an emphasis on continually bettering herself and the Product Development team. She feels
stagnant when not learning and growing and seeks out opportunities to further her knowledge of cosmetic
science. Another asset Kayla brings is collaborating with ease. She not only works great with those inside 5th
floor R&D but makes it a priority to connect with those in 4th floor R&D and with Supply Chain and Quality
       Control labs at the plant.

What were the results of the individual’s or team’s behaviors?
Kayla has propelled both her own skills as well as Product Development forward. She is currently pursuing her
Masters in Cosmetic Science and has applied her learnings directly to projects. Kayla's surface tension and
contact angle classes benefited Clean Release Technology work. She also presents general learnings to the
       entire team.
Foaming technology and testing is also moving forward because of Kayla. She partnered with the
Development Lab to understand how we might quantify the required energy and foam generation impact of
creating a concentrated soap. Product Development can now better analyze prototypes and predict their
performance in various delivery systems. Additionally, she has identified and purchased a foam analyzer that
enables us to have a consistent measurement of foam quality and more efficiently optimize both soap and
       sanitizer prototypes.
