The End Times—A Timetable 145
The prophet Daniel regretfully foresaw all of this: "He
shall confirm the covenant with many for one week [seven
years]: and in the midst of the week he shall cause the
sacrifice and the oblation to cease. . . even until the con-
summation [Armageddon]" (Dan. 9:27).
The Lord corroborated this, as we have seen, and added
some good advice about those terrible times.
When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desola-
tion, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy
place, (whoso readeth, let him understand:) then let them

is on the housetop not come down to take anything out
of his house: neither let him which is in the field return
to take his clothes. . . . For then shall be great tribulation,
such as was not [seen! since the beginning of the world to
this time, no, nor ever shall be (Mt 24:15-21).

previous world wars.
But in the holocaust that's coming, we are apparently
going to use the sum total of man's vast, deadly war-making
knowledge. Jesus Christ will finally hasten to the scene be-
cause, "except those days should be shortened, there should
no flesh be saved" (Mt 24:22).
For our purposes in looking at the story of the Tribula-
