tion Temple, Armageddon marks its ending point. Jerusa-
lem will be the scene of such mass killing and pillage that
it would sicken Nebuchadnezzar. The Temple must fall.
But its replacement will be the most important building ever
to grace this planet. The Millennial Temple, the fourth and
final Jerusalem Temple, will be the house of the Lord on
earth, literally. Christ will reside in His Temple, built, of
course, on that special mountain "which I will show to
                           thee."
The prophet Zechariah places Armageddon in Israel, its
focal point, with Jerusalem particularly involved. "I will
gather all nations against Jerusalem to battle; and the city
shall be taken, and the houses rifled, and the women rav-
ished; and half the city shall go forth into captivity" (Zec
                           14:2).
Revelation gives Armageddon its name, from the site of
the ultimate battle. "They are the spirits of devils . . . which
go forth unto the kings of the earth and of the whole world,
to gather them to the battle of that great day of God Al-
mighty. And he gathered them together into a place called
in the Hebrew tongue Armageddon" (Rev 16:14-16).
"Armageddon" refers to the Mount of Megiddo in Israel
where countless bloody battles have been fought. A valley,
called the Valley of Jehoshaphat by the prophet Joel,
reaches from the mountain westward to the port of Haifa.
It is a fine place for a first class war. Joel predicted it very
                           clearly:

Proclaim this among the nations; prepare war; stir up
the mighty men; let all the men of war draw near, let
them come up. . . . Haste ye, and come, all ye nations
round about, gather yourselves together: thither cause thy
mighty ones to come down, O Jehovah. Let the nations
bestir themselves, and come up to the valley of Jehosha-
