the earth, and their armies, gathered together to make
war against him that sat on the horse, and against his
                                army (19:19).

The Lord and His heavenly troops ("Upon white horses,
clothed in fine linen, white and clean" 19:14) dispose of
the forces of the Antichrist. We owe the fire-and-brimstone
religious terms to this accounting of the final moment of
Armageddon: "And the beast was taken, and with him the
false prophet. . . . These both were cast alive into a lake
of fire burning with brimstone" (19:20).
Zechariah also wrote about this incident, supplying the
fact that an earthquake will split the Mount of Olives:

Then shall the LORD go forth, and fight against those
nations. . . . And his feet shall stand in that day upon the
mount of Olives, which is before Jerusalem on the east,
and the mount of Olives will cleave in the midst thereof
toward the east and toward the west (Zee 14:3-4).
That may be how the Tribulation Temple is destroyed.
The Mount of Olives stands just east of the Temple site,
actually overlooking it. It is likely that the Temple site
would suffer great damage from an earthquake so close by.

                            THE MILLENNIAL KINGDOM
Then, and only then, comes peace on earth, good will
toward men. The race of men have done their all to destroy
themselves and their world. Christ has come and put a stop
                           to it.
                              Zechariah goes on triumphantly:

And the LORD shall be king over all the earth: in that
day shall there be one LORD, and his name one. . . . And
men shall dwell in it, and there shall be no more utter
