The End Times—A Timetable 147
phat. . . . Multitudes, multitudes in the valley of decision!
For the day of Jehovah is near in the valley of decision
                                (Joel 3:9-14 ASV).

                           THE RETURN OF CHRIST

The day of the Lord will be near indeed as events pro-
gress in the valley of decision. Men will have the means to
destroy their entire race at once, not slowly as at present,
but the Lord will come and prevent this.
Past commentators had to use a lot of imagination in
describing the Lord's actual reappearance since Revelation
tells us: "Behold, he cometh with clouds; and every eye
                           shall see him" (1:7).
How can every eye on earth see Him at once?
An intriguing possibility, hitched again to our modern
times and our concept of things, is satellite television. The
image of Christ would indeed be beamed on the clouds, and
accessible to every eye at once.
If you thought His return (the second coming) was be-
ing televised live, would you turn on your set?
But the Lord will not be coming as a TV personality.
Instead, His coming will have a grim purpose, as we have
seen. Revelation describes Christ's dealing with the powers
at the bloody work of Armageddon. John writes:
                                   And  I  saw  heaven  opened,  and  behold  a  white  horse;
and he that sat upon him was called Faithful and True,
and in righteousness he doth judge and make war . . . and
his name is called The Word of God [see Jn 1:1,14]. . . .
And he hath on his vesture and on his thigh a name writ-
ten, KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF~ LORDS (Rev
                                19:11-16).
And I saw the beast [the Antichrist], and the kings of
