"Five young Jewish Israelis from different backgrounds,
vocations and parts of Israel sat conversing passionately
last summer and were united with one common and strong
desire, expressed by the words of the prayer, 'Let the
Temple be rebuilt, soon in our lifetime.' For these five
men, the words of this prayer are more than just mere
wishful thinking. They want to turn that hidden longing
into reality as they said, 'Let us help in rebuilding the
                                 Temple.'
"These five initiators understand that they cannot do
all the work alone, neither physically nor financially,
since they have families and must continue in their jobs.
But led by Rabbi Tarfon's saying (Pirke Abot), 'You
don't have to finish the whole work, but you are not ex-
cused from doing it.' So these five thought it will be
enough if they can hold up the banner for others to fol-
                                 low.
"Five members formed an Association with program
and goals clearly stated: To be in Jerusalem, to organize
the leaders of Judiasm and rabbis to study the laws and
commandments concerning the rebuilding of the Temple
and help to fund the project for donations raised for the
                                 rebuilding of the Temple.
"Also, to help in the work of planning and rebuilding
and to see that this work is delivered into the hands of
architects, engineers, artists, fine craftsmen, masons,
smiths and carpenters. All these specialists are to be or-
ganized by the Association. It was noted that much money
will be required for the above purpose and so it was es-
tablished that the Association would have the right to
purchase and erect branches all over the country and
world to collect funds to further their goals.
"The first application for official registry was refused
by the Ministry of Interior but the five initiators are ap-
pealing to the Supreme Court emphasizing, 'The purposes
