The Stage Is Set 35

religion" or "primitive ritual," and this would certainly af-
fect the fulfillment of the prophecies about the Tribulation
                           Temple.
For the building simply to be constructed and used for
nonsacrificial worship would not completely identify with
the Scriptures about the third Temple. The Antichrist must
abolish the sacrifices and oblations. If they are not there,
we would have just another modern Jewish synagogue, al-
beit standing at the right place.

                           WHAT GOD SAYS
So there are Moslem, Christian, and Jewish objections
to the immediate construction of the Tribulation Temple.
And on the other side is the Word of God. A great deal
must be overcome on earth for God's Word to be fulfilled,
but that has been the case in many instances before.
Chapter 3 reviews in detail what God has indicated in His
Word concerning the future of the Temple site. God's Word
                            has the last word.

                                         THE EARTHLY INCENTIVES
We might look a moment at the brighter side of this pic-
ture. There are many earthly incentives for the Temple to
                            be built soon.
Among Bible-believing Christians, of course, is the idea
of fulfilling prophecy. The great prophecies of Daniel, the
Lord, the apostle Paul, and John will be largely fulfilled by
the reconstruction itself. It would serve as a faith-building
confirmation that the Word of God is still being worked
out, and that the scene is being set, as the New Testament
promises, for the return of Jesus Christ.
The second benefit to the Christians would be in the
matter of witnessing for Christ to the Jews. This is certain-
