has laid out quite a puzzle indeed. His chosen people need
their Temple and want it. They have historical and biblical
precedent to build their Temple now, besides a host of
modern practical reasons. But some of them await their
Messiah to lead the project and do not favor going ahead.
Then there's the Lord's flock, the Christians, promised
the kingdom of heaven. Some of them also want this Tem-
ple to be rebuilt, though others demur and say it is con-
trary to Christ's fulfillment of the sacrifices.
And then we have the Moslems whose mighty shrine has
dominated the site chosen by God for thirteen hundred
years. They will not allow their Dome of the Rock to be
moved. They will doubtless take up arms if there is the
slightest threat to it.
And finally there is Scripture—infallible as always.
Clearly this Temple will someday stand. Clearly it will be
a Temple of God, in the ancient traditions of those con-
secrated houses that have graced this site in ages gone by.
What will happen?
It is the thesis of this book that the Tribulation Temple
will be built; that it will stand on the site of the Dome of
the Rock; that it will be a genuine Jerusalem Temple com-
parable to Solomon's and Herod's; that it will house sacri-
fice and oblations; that the Antichrist will cause these to
cease in the Temple as prophesied; that it will be destroyed
so that Christ may raise the final Temple—His house on
the earth.
