Opening Pandora's Box—
Prayer on the Mount
As WE STATED in the introduction to this revised edition, it
has been several years since Satan in the Sanctuary was first
published. During that time some remarkable events have
come to pass, further intensifying the imminency of Temple
prophecy.
We expected that. If we are, in fact, approaching the
biblical "end times," and if, as the Scriptures state, the Tribu-
lation Temple is to be constructed in connection with that
period, we ought to be seeing some progress. And, in fact,
we are.
When Satan in the Sanctuary was written, Israel was very
far removed from actual Temple-building plans. But, as this
updated section will show, some very real developments
toward the existence of the third Temple have now trans-
pired. Truly this is the first time in modern history, since the
destruction of the second Temple in A.D. 70, that we might
well report the steps toward the rebuilding of the Temple of
God.
The most striking of the new developments is the insistence
of some Israelis to pray on the Temple Mount itself, rather
than at the Western Wall below. Defying both traditional
prohibitions against desecrating the site as well as public
