MIDLANDS
         Birmingham

“The Birmingham office can be congratulated for their
efforts on Muller, our first project with Kier in three
years which has gone exceptionally well to date with
phased handovers and the final hurdle to complete
          in February.

The project has been well managed and engineered and the quality
delivered is exceptional. What is also encouraging is the fact that Muller are
now talking to us on direct works as we deploy our strategy to source direct
          work “beyond the builder”.
HMP Long Lartin is in its third year on site. Shackled by poor periodic
maintenance under the MOJs contract with Amey, the project now has an
22 end in sight. What was once a tricky stand off relationship with Galliford
Try is now much improved and I do believe repeat work will follow as we
are shoulder to shoulder on the account which is in itself a significant
achievement. Another example of beyond the builder, this client is also
instructing direct works and final phase of HV/LV upgrade remains an
          opportunity ahead.

New opportunities need to be secured and the bid team has been locked
into two tender schemes at Coventry Hospital and Snowhill Wharf. An
extensive LED lighting upgrade and residential project represent a solid
recovery of sales and give fresh emergence into the Midlands market.
Our culture has to remain customer focussed to secure these key tenders
and operational excellence is already improving which is evident from
          recent customer feedback.

The region has also been successful in securing preferred bidder status
with the MOD to deliver a new prefabricated energy centre. We have worked
with MDSL during the bid phase and plan to deliver this joint venture once
the client contracts have been signed. It’s a good example of where we can
come together with a company proposition for our customers.

I would like to thank the staff in Birmingham for their support over the past
12 months and for their continued commitment to changing the business.
We must continue to grow our reputation as a solid regional MEP performer
and additionally, look to diversify into new opportunities with direct end client
          work and principal contractor roles.
