practices for teachers on how to teach literacy starting from the basics
to more advanced reading comprehension taking into consideration
children who have difficulties in learning to read. The eLearning

University of Namibia, the University of Zambia, the Kenya Institute
of Special Education, the Archbishop Mihayo University College of
Tabora (Tanzania) supported by Finnish stakeholders at the University
of Jyväskylä and the University of Helsinki).

enhance the quality of teacher education.
Methodology: A systematic description of the content of the website
will be given. Further, how it was developed and what the targeted
aim of the website is. It also examines the diverse ways in which the
website can be used effectively in Namibia to boost initial literacy
learning and teaching, as well as to minimise reading difficulties
through its use of local supporting materials. In addition, the
presentation describes the potential of using the website for
continuous professional development (CPD) with the aim of teacher
certification. Plans for piloting the eTALE Africa website will also be
            shared in the presentation.
