poor mathematics performance of grade seven learners
Aim: Exploring factors that influence poor Mathematics performance
of Grade 7 learners is pivotal to guide the stakeholders to support the
learners and make inclusivity possible.
Methodology: This qualitative study used a case study research
design. A convenience sample strategy was used to select the
participants of the study. The research used interview and observation
tools to collect data leading to understanding the mentioned factors
that enable inclusivity.
Results: The findings of the study revealed the major factors that
influence poor Mathematic performance. These are peer pressure,
teaching methods, gender stereotypes, parental factors, and learners’
lack of ability to use Mathematic language. The study also revealed
possible solutions or strategies to solve poor performance. These are:
remedial teaching, bringing mathematics in daily life as prior
knowledge, giving practical work, providing game-based learning, and
giving attention to slow learners.

learner-mothers in schools: The case of Omuthuya Circuit,
Oshikoto Region
Background: Over the past decades, there has been a rising concern
on early parenthood and its disadvantages for schoolgirls. Namibian
school pregnancy statistics shows that many school-girls fall pregnant
annually.
Aim: The study aimed to investigate challenges experienced by
learner-mothers, the circumstances of these learners, their wishes, and
aspirations in Omuthiya Circuit, Oshikoto Region.
