discuss sex and sexual assault prevention with the children who

are in our care. You might even be amazed at the interest and

questions that this story generates from your children. The story

also avoids any inappropriate situations and it is set in a familiar

               school/home environment.

As a school counsellor, I have used a very vague version of

this story in whole class sessions, allowing the children to take

turns to read different parts of the story, and without fail, there

was always rapt attention and plenty of questions. So, although

this story is fictional, the children’s responses could testify to its

value as a teaching tool to help with their protection from sexual

               assault.

The vivid narrative also helps to fix in our minds some of

the child grooming signs that we and our children should be

aware of and because we don't know everything, the resources

encourage us to find the answers to our children's unique

               questions.

Imagine the reference point that Sandy's Experience can

provide to ease any future difficult discussions about sex and

sexual assault prevention with your children. The many
