• When called away from your work area for an extended length of time, do not leave
valuable or personal articles around your workstation that may be accessible.
                   • You should immediately notify your supervisor when keys are missing or if security access
codes, identification materials, or passes have been breached.
                   • The security of the facilities, as well as the welfare of our employees and students, depends
upon the alertness and sensitivity of every individual.

               Sales Tax

All items purchased by The Lawson Academy for The Academy’s own use qualify for an
exemption from sales tax if the items purchased relate to the educational process. The Lawson
Academy or an authorized agent should provide the seller a tax exemption certificate. To be valid,
the certificate must state that the merchandise being purchased is for the organization's own use in
providing education and is being made in the name of the organization, and that payment shall be
made from the organization's own funds. The Lawson Academy should not reimburse employees
for sales tax they paid on purchases made on the behalf of The Lawson Academy.

Purchases for their own use by individuals, even though connected with The Lawson Academy or
WALIPP organization, are not exempt from the tax. As an example, cheerleaders purchase their
own uniforms, teachers purchasing computer equipment, band members purchasing their own
instruments and athletic teams purchasing their own jackets.

               School Property Inspections

The Lawson Academy is committed to providing a work environment that is safe and free of illegal
drugs, alcohol, firearms, explosives and other improper materials. Additionally, The Academy
provides property and facilities to its employees to carry out business on behalf of The Academy.
Accordingly, employees do not have a reasonable expectation of privacy when using any Academy
property or facilities. In accordance with these policies, all Academy facilities and property,
including all items contained therein, may be inspected by The Academy at any time, with or
without prior notice to the employee. The Lawson Academy property includes all desks, storage
areas, work stations, lockers, file cabinets, computers, telephone systems, email systems and other
storage devices. The Lawson Academy also reserves the right to inspect any vehicle, its trunk,
glove compartment or any container therein that is parked on The Lawson Academy property or
premises. The Lawson Academy reserves the right to deny entry to any person who refuses to
cooperate with any inspections by The Academy. Any employee who fails to cooperate with
inspections may be subject to disciplinary action, up to and including dismissal.
