MEMORIAL PARK SITE PLAN

At the southwestern corner, a lawn area with a restroom facility will
be implemented. The restroom facility creates a jewel box programmed
with necessary elements to facilitate larger crowds and events. An “art

walk” is also being proposed at Memorial Park. Along the organic paved
paths that twist and turn throughout, the park will take park users
through a series of both permanent and temporary art installations.
These sculptures would be commissioned through local artists or as a
community event to integrate art within the park. When the temporary
installations are not erected, the lawn space can be used for pop-up
events such as art shows, and lawn games. Since Park Drive is not a
main road used to enter the downtown area, the road could be closed
for special events that would open up the street to pedestrians making
additional space for street entertainment.
