            The Cristo Rey Sanctuary

Cristo Rey Philadelphia High School is an independent, Catholic,
college preparatory school for students of all faiths who cannot
otherwise afford a private education. Serving as Associate Ar-
chitect, Bernardon provided conceptual design services, owner
advisory services, and architectural design of the Sanctuary.
As the heart of its new home, Cristo Rey Philadelphia High
School decided to create a sacred space that would reflect what it
means to be a Catholic school for students of all faiths.

women of all races and all religions share a special human digni-
ty, and that we are committed to love and to serve everyone. Stu-
dents are encouraged to not only explore and express their own
faith traditions, but also to be open to understanding the beliefs
and traditions of their peers. This mission is fostered in theol-
ogy classes, in prayer services, in service programs, in retreats,
and in religious ceremonies. With this philosophy in mind, Ber- space for the entire Cristo Rey Philadelphia community. As a result,
