in order to make teaching more interesting and meaningful which can further enhance pupils
performance 4) the government should adapt a sustainable programs by providing modules and
EPP equipment to improve their craft in teaching and the academic performance of the pupils 5)
Other studies should be conducted to look into other aspects of teachers’ extent of use of the
different teaching strategies in EPP.
EXTENT OF PARTICIPATION OF SCHOOL MANAGERS IN COMMUNITY
DEVELOPMENT PROJECTS

This study determined the extent of participation of public elementary school managers
in community development projects of Urdaneta City Division, SY 2013-2014. Specifically, it
sought to determine the profile of the respondents in terms of age, sex, civil status, religious
affiliation, highest educational attainment, and years of experience as a school managers and
the number of relevant in service trainings. Likewise, it looked into the extent of participation
of public elementary school managers in community development projects along zero waste
management, economic development, sports development, clean and green, community learning
center, health and nutrition and environmental concerns, the significant relationships between
the extent of participation of public elementary school managers in community development
projects and their profile variables and the problems encountered by the school managers in
their participation to community development projects.
The descriptive method of research was employed and the questionnaire checklist
was used in gathering the data. To address the problems in this study, the statistical measures
were used for data analysis and interpretations. These are frequency counts and percentage,
the average weighted means, the analysis of variance and the Pearson product moment of
coefficient correlation were used.
The following are the findings of the study: 1) the youngest of the school manager is 31
years old and the oldest is 60 and above, predominantly women, with bachelors degree , Roman
Catholic, majority have 5 years in service as school administrators; 2) the extent of participation
of public elementary school managers in community development is moderately extensive; 3)
there’s no significant relationships found between the extent of participation of public elementary
school managers and their profile variables and; 4) the most pressing problems encountered by
the public elementary school managers participation in community development projects are the
value system of the people and negative attitude of the people towards change.
Based on the findings, the following are the conclusions of the study: 1) the school
managers widely vary in their profile variables and at certain instances their variations are in
extreme cases and are distinctively female dominated group of school managers 2) the moderately
extensive level of participation of public elementary school managers in community development
projects should be improved by strengthening more their collaboration to barangay council
