TEACHERS INVOLVEMENT IN COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT

This study determined the extent of the teachers’ involvement in community
development in Laoac during the SY 2013-2014.
Specifically, it sought to determine the profile of the public elementary school teachers in
terms of the following sex, age, civil status, highest educational attainment, number of teachers
supervised and relevant trainings attended; the extent of public elementary schools teachers
involvement in community development focused on environmental education; significant
differences on the extent of teachers’ involvement in community development across the profile
variables; significant differences between the public elementary school teachers’ involvement
in community development; problems encountered by the public elementary school teachers in
their extent of involvement in community development in Laoac District, development program
can be proposed to enhance teachers involvement in community development.
From the findings of the study, the following conclusions were drawn: 1. The teachers
of the public elementary school of Laoac district are relatively young, mostly female, married,
catholic, and educationally qualified, has little experienced as school teachers and have attended
trainings; 2. The teachers of the elementary school involvement in community development
focused on environment education is moderately involved in all the areas of concerned; 3. There
is no consistency in the teachers extent of involvement in community development focused on
environmental education over the different areas.
Based on the findings and conclusions derived from the study, the following
recommendations are hereby presented; 1. The school teachers who have not finished their
masters’ degree and doctoral degree should be encouraged to pursue their graduate studies; 2.
Training programs should be designed and implemented to upgrade the teachers involvement
in community development to make it highly involved; 3. The teachers through the assistance
of higher authorities should take bold steps in resolving problems affecting them; 4. Other
studies should be conducted to look into other aspects of teachers involvement in community
development using more variables and in a wider scope.

This study determined the human resource management practices of school managers
in the public elementary school managers in the public elementary schools of Urdaneta City SY
2013-20134. Specifically, it sought to determine the profile of the respondents in terms of age,
sex, civil status, highest educational attainment, and the years of experience as school managers,
number of relevant in-service trainings. Likewise, it looked into the level of human resource
