This study determined the instructional competencies of school teachers in teaching
Mathematics using the Mother Tongue in Villasis II, Division of Pangasinan II SY 2013-2014.
Specifically, it sought to determine the profile of school teachers in terms of age, sex, civil status,
highest educational attainment, length of teaching experience, relevant trainings attended and
language spoken most of the time at home.
Further, it looked into the levels of instructional competencies of school teacher in
Mathematics using Mother Tongue as perceived by them and the significant differences between
the levels of instructional competencies of school teachers in Mathematics using Mother Tongue
in school-community projects across the variables: age, sex, civil status, highest educational
attainment, length of teaching experience, relevant trainings attended and language spoken at
home. Also, it looked into significant relationship between the level of instructional competencies
and selected variables namely: highest educational attainment, relevant trainings and language
spoken at home most of the time. The null hypothesis was tested at .05 level of significance
between the levels of leadership competencies and their profile variables.
The descriptive method of research was employed and the questionnaire checklist was
used in gathering data. The frequency counts, percentages, weighted average point and ANOVA
(Analysis of Variance) and Coded Pearson-Moment Correlation Coefficient r were the statistical
tools used in the analysis of data. The findings indicate that most of the school teachers belong
