majority of them are 41-50 years old bracket, females, greater part of them has M.A. units,
has stayed in the service for 6-10 years has attended trainings in the division level and have
several areas of expertise; 2) the extent of classroom management practices in the different
areas namely: planning skills, physical environment, use instructional materials, teaching styles
and decision-making practices is 4.17 with equivalent as “practiced” as indicated in the overall
weighted mean: 3) the null hypothesis of no significant difference in the extent of classroom
management practices in the different areas across the profile variables is generally accepted
at .05 le4vel of significant except in the area of planning skills, physical environment, use of
instructional materials, teaching styles and decision-making practices across age. Also it is noted
that in the area of physical environment and use of instructional materials across length of
service whereby same null hypothesis is rejected.
The conclusions made are: the teachers are matured enough, educationally qualified for the
teaching profession. They are still wanting of enhancing or improving their extent of classroom
management practices in the different aspects. The respondents are not comparable in the
extent classroom management practices across variable age and length of service.
The following recommendations are hereby presented: a well-designed In – Service Training
Program should be formulated and implemented to enhance the classroom management practices
especially in the use of instructional materials. A more carefully selected variable should further
be identified specially those string indicators for effective classroom management. Further,
other research should be considered to look into the other concerns of classroom management
practices not covered by the study.

DEVELOPMENT AND VALIDATION OF ORAL FLUENCY SOURCE BOOK

                                     ROMELA R. MONTEMAYOR

This study dealt with the development and validation of Oral Fluency Soucebook in
English II of Urdaneta District I, Urdaneta City Division SY 2013-2014.
The need assessment included a survey on the status of the instructional materials
in teaching English II in terms of their availability in the classroom. Topics included in the
sourcebook were aligned with the objectives in the PELC. Lessons were presented as follow
objectives, content, illustrations/ examples and evaluative exercises. The proposed sourcebook
was validated and reviewed by teachers and school administrators who are experts in English.
The tools for data analysis were frequency counts, percentages and mean. The findings
indicate that 1) the status of the instructional materials in teaching Oral Fluency English II
particularly books, journals, modules and scripts were insufficient 2) Sourcebook for Oral Fluency
in English II was developed and proposed to address the need to supplement the existing
materials used in the teaching of English with the aim to improve the level of performance of the
pupils 3) The proposed sourcebook comes with a lesson outline listing the major topics covered

                                                                                     30
