                                      LORNA B. LEAL

This study determined the level of coaching practices of high performing teachers in
relation to values orientation in the 5th Congressional Districts in the Division of Pangasinan II
SY 2013-2014. Specifically, it sought to determine the profile of the respondents in terms of age,
sex, civil status, number of years as coach, number of winnings and relevant trainings attended.
Further, it looked into the levels of coaching practices of high performing teachers
including their values orientation. It also look into the significant differences between the levels
of values orientation across the profile variables age, sex, civil status, number of years as coach,
number of winnings and relevant trainings attended. The significant relationship between the
coaching practices and the values orientation of the respondents was also looked into.
The hypothesis was tested at 0.05 level of significance between the levels of coaching
practices and profile and also their coaching practices in relation to values orientation: personal
values, family values, social values and universal values.
The descriptive method of research was used and the questionnaire checklist was used
in gathering data. The frequency counts, percentage, weighted mean and ANOVA (Analysis of
Variance) and the Pearson-Product Moment of Coefficient Correlation r were used.
The findings indicate that most of the teacher-respondents belong to age bracket 41-50
years old 12 or 40.0 percent. Majority of them are females, and married. The number of years
as coach is 14-19 years which is 8 or 26 percent. Most of them have academic winnings that is
30 or 100 percent. Majority have relevant trainings in the division that is 26 or 86.7 percent.
Further the levels of coaching practices in the preparation stage, actual performance
and evaluation stage has overall weighted mean 4.29 described s “practiced”. The levels of
values orientation practices has an overall weighted mean of 4.18 described as “practiced”.
There is no consistency in the coaching practices of the high performing teachers in
       relation to values orientation.
Based on the findings and conclusions, the following are recommended: 1) the high
performing teachers who have few winnings are encouraged to exert more efforts in coaching
to increase their winnings during competitions; 2) training programs should be designed,
implemented to upgrade the teachers coaching practices to make it highly practiced; 3) there is
a need of strict policies in the teachers involvement and commitment in their coaching practices
