This study sought to develop and validate supplementary work text in HEKASI IV
pupils. The descriptive survey methods was employed since it involved description, presentation,
analysis, and interpretation on relationship between the independent variable and dependent
variable towards development of a quality supplementary work text in HEKASI. The design of
the developed instructional materials for Grade IV pupils was based on the analysis of the results
of the questionnaire checklist distributed to the respondents and their existing work book in
HEKASI IV. On the other hand, the development of the said materials was based on the reactions
made by 3 Validators: principals and education supervisor, the principal of the said school, the
researcher’s adviser and 2 authorities in development of instructional materials.
Based on the gathered data, the following are the findings of the study. 1. Majority of
the respondents are male dominated, with frequency of 273 or 51.4 percent, came from Villasis
I Central School and Puelay Elementary School respectively. Commonly have 1-4 siblings and
parents been engage to business and others are mostly farmers, majority belongs to Catholic
as their dominant religion.2. In terms of the problems encountered of the pupils in the study
of HEKASI in relation to the subject content, it is found out that the average weighted mean is
1.75 with descriptive equivalent of “slightly difficult (or medyo mahirap)”3. As to the teaching
materials employed by the teachers in presentation of their HEKASI subject, it was found out
that is was “slightly difficult (or medyo mahirap)”.4. In relation to teaching methods in delivering
the lesson, it was found out that the overall weighted mean is 1.83 with descriptive equivalent of
“slightly difficult (or medyo mahirap)5. Propose or develop a supplementary work text in HEKASI
